Actinic Keratoses are small, crusty, red lesions and patches caused from sun exposure over one's lifetime. As we age, actinic keratoses, or "pre-cancerous" lesions appear on sun exposed areas of our skin such as the face and arms. We "freeze" these areas with liquid nitrogen and typically they resolve within 2 to 4 weeks. The process can be painful depending on the amount of areas needing treatment, and the areas can remain discolored for several months.                            

 There now is a new treatment available that we will be offering at the Central Wyo Skin Clinic involving photo dynamic therapy or "Blue Light" therapy. We begin by applying a chemical to the affected areas for a short time prior to the treatment, which is then acctivated by the Blue Light, causing the destruction of these actinic keratosis.
